It really depends on your use of the coffee maker. Would it be better, for you, if it was located in the family room? I'd find it more useful in the kitchen.

I would also want it in the kitchen - out of the main cooking area, but adjacent to the beverage area or in the butler's pantry - similar to this set up. But it is your house and your family room

Curious what you ended up doung @pardis2652 We are putting our built in coffee maker in our bar. Our bar, kitchen and living space is all open and we will have a refrigerator ans sink in our bar.
