Contact your City Arborist. They can provide you with a list of trees for your zone that will do well in urban and suburban environments. That said....do your research well. Some trees can have invasive root systems. Others attract bees (which can be a good thing!). Some can add fall color that will enhance your home. What do your neighbors have? Do you want to match their trees or change things up? Variety can enrich a neighborhood streetscape. Remember....you are choosing something that will be there for a long time.
