Small cove molding inside corner cuts?

I am trying to install a small cove molding (3/4 x 3/4) on a strip I attached to my kitchen cabinets to give it a finished look but I can not figure out the 22.5 inside cuts to get a tight fit! Do I need to both mitre and bevel cut the corners to get a correct match? How do I figure out the correct bevel if so?

This is what I am trying to finish
This is where I already added the cove molding. I am hoping as we painters used to say that "putty and paint make it what it ain't"!

You should only need a bevel in addition to a miter if the ceiling is not level/flat.

I usually use a short piece to make test cuts on.

Which way should I be cutting? I tried several cuts on short pieces with no luck. Maybe it is because of my strips of wood are not perfect!

The strips I attached to the top of the cabinets are not perfect is what I mean!
