We are remodeling our stone fireplace. I would like to do a white polished marble surround. I am thinking 2x4 subway tiles with a wood surround. However, my concern is that 7 years or so this look will be dated. Any thoughts on this? I know that we could do a slab of marble instead of the tiles however, this is more costly. What do you think?
