The only place I have found duvet covers large enough is Pottery Barn. I think they are 108" wide.

I would go very neutral on the bench, so that it's easier to use in the future if (when?!) you change bedding or paint colors. That storage bench you were looking at looks good, but is the size right?

Thank you Bluebell...the bench is 53" wide. So surprisingly large. The existing bench is 50". We have a king bed.

And I'm in Canada. So PB ends up being super $$ with the dollar and exchange. Or else I would have ALL THE POTTERY BARN lol!

I love your duvet cover. The colors in your room are just perfect to me. The bench is lovely. I am not a huge fan of the shaggy rug though. I would prefer something else, though I don't know what (helpful, I know.)

The rug, yes. I'd like to get rid of it (these Costco shags are only good for so long!), and maybe just have a sheepskin for the dog to grip on to jump.

Oh, and pattern for a rug...I wouldn't want to go crazy with pattern as we have the drapes. I would probably just do a little rug along the side for the dog.

Drapes

Do you sew at all? The bench you have looks fine to me, but it could easily be recovered in a different fabric. The legs could be painted or sanded and stained and you'd have a totally different look.

I don't sew my3dogs. I did have visons of recovering it. And lost steam.

I think the duvet cover is too bright and just not right with your curtains. They're very nice.

Where do you live? Do you actually sleep under that heavy duvet? I live in KY and it gets cold at night in the winter, and I turn off the heat upstairs and my rooms is often in the mid 50's. I sleep (just me and a small dog) with a down blanket (NOT comforter) and a very thin quilt on the bed all winter and am very warm. A big thick comforter would cause me to roast! It has to get below 5° to be cold enough for me to bring out the down comforter/duvet.

Anglophilia- the duvet is a bit bright, more white than the creamy curtains, but I got it a couple years ago for $15 (king sized with the shams) and needed something. So despite that it's not perfect, it'll do for now!

When I took the duvet out yesterday my dh thought I was going crazy. But it's a Smart Silk duvet. It's not hot. It's actually super cozy and cool. We have our AC set for 24 celcius at night (75 F). And it's been getting about 10 celcius (50 F) at night. Like fall already!

Ctlane...I ordered them from Tonic Living. So semi custom. They have the black out lining. I think they were about $400 or so. Of course dependent on the fabric. But they are beautiful, out of Toronto I think and gorgeous fabrics!
