Marie, maybe a PeeGee?

Blossoms look too full for PeeGee to me. It looks most like a Limelight to me or perhaps a Little Lime, based on flower size, shape, and color, though it is on the large size for LL. Watch it through the fall and see what color it changes to. If there isn't much color development that would fit with Limelight or LL IME. Most of the newer cultivars seem to have good pink color development.

NHBabs, I agree It could be LL, here is picture of PG taken this morning after the rain

Nice looking PeeGee, Hyde. Most I see here have smaller panicles, but yours looks quite full and happy.

Marie, do you recall if this is a really new cultivar or a sort of new type or if it has been around forever?

Thank you NHBabs, I have learned everything from Youse Guys ( it a boston thing) on this forum...LOL

I bought all mine within last 5 years or less and they are a mix

i know I have little lime (and where I planted them)

i have also have, and know it is not the one on photo,

tardiva, van straw, quickfire, .... it is late and drawing a blank.

i don't remember getting limelight or pegee but that doesn't mean much

heres another forgotten giant

Is yous guys Boston or Vinny (from My Cousin ...) Or was Vinny from Boston?

Marie..do your other paniculatas have as many blooms as your PeeGee and LL/Limelight?..you and hyed get so MANY blooms..is that the tarp in pics 2 & 3 or blue blooms? Lol..

To delete a photo highlight the photo like you would to copy a word. Then hit delete. I like your rock fence by the arbor.

any three decka anywhere? mnws...My husband built the stonewall! It was satisfying work.

nichols....Thee Blue is a tarp. They never go away, tarps. Where ever I go there's an orange or blue tarp in the way. Yes, Quickfire is covered in blooms that are more to my liking than marshmallows and muffins on steroids.

I think of the giant blooms as conversation pieces. (only one syllable words like "wow" or "ugh" in my case.

Marie..I'm jealous that your hydrangeas are covered in blooms..maybe I should get some tarps to add color to my wooded lot haha..

Next, pictures of all the half naked hydrangeas I grow. Or what about the ones that bloom every other year or that have a skirt of flowers and nothing on top. I know the reasons but isn't it hard to dig up and throw away a plant you've watched for 5 years. I know it's not my child, but still attachments do develop.

That's limelight

The size of the plant and size of the blooms can vary quite a bit based on location / growing conditions.

But one thing that is always in common is the color and characteristic of the bloom which is unique with limelight.
