While that design isn't anything I'd choose, it doesn't look all that bad to me! Maybe it's worse in person? Compared to some furniture I had in early rentals, it's quite nice! I like the back pillow design fabric, not sure why the arms and seat are different from each other.

I honestly think trying to cover with blankets, etc. is really going to look worse than just decorating around these. Get some colorful pillows and maybe a rug to draw your attention away a bit.

If you are hanging draperies/curtains, would beige match or coordinate with the walls? If so, I think that would be fine. They will be a background, not a feature. I would like turquoise or teal with the colors on the couch...red would work, as would some colors in the yellow/gold family, and orange if you like it.

I'd use a fabric like this that pulls in the gray, dark brown, and beige of the walls and make new covers for the pillows. You can make an easy envelope style pillow that acts like a slipcover and can be pulled right off.

Then you can use a simple beige curtain that matches your walls-maybe something with a little texture.

I think you're fine to leave the seats on the dining set as is.

Even though it's an apartment, it's a small investment to make in order to make it feel like your space.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! Would u know by any chance what the size might be of those pillows? I really would like to get the suggested fabric and sew it on. Unfortunately, Im not in town until the september/move in date to measure the pillows.

You're welcome! I have no idea but I would say 4 yards should do it. 1 yard for each pillow should be plenty since it's 54" wide and the pillows look a little over 2 feet long each. You might end up with a little extra but I don't think you'll be short.
