I use the red paper plates for my larger plants. They are a little stiffer cardboard than the white ones and I kind of like the red mixed in w the other colors the plants provide.

I dunno Rosie Your book of opinions might make for an interesting read. My take on it is that opinions are like...violets. Every one has got...a story. ;-)

@Jeff Red is quite colorful and you gave me the idea to switch it up at Xmas. :-) Maybe I can work in a few pastels the meanwhile with a trip to Party City.

Did some reading up on these 'collars' the other night and got a couple of more ideas. Foam from plastic meat trays work well and are waterproof. And to hold the collars in place I should cut the bottom off another Solo cup and slide up the 1st cup to below the collar. Now the collar is easily removable which is better than the tape I used to 'temporarily' hold it in place. Much better than the elastic bands I was going to use. Simple ideas but they're never the most obvious to me, lol. :-)
