We just purchased this 100 year old house and are doing full house renovation. The house has two set of stairs front (nice and grand) and back stairs that are currently leading to the back porch. I want to enlarge the kitchen (rear right of the house) so the stairs would end in the kitchen - not outside porch. The current porch you see will become the kitchen. Not sure how to finish the back. Square off (or not) the back bump (rear left of the house, right side of the picture) with a bit of foundation, glass windows, and put the a balcony on top? That is what I am thinking but can not decide. Maybe other ideas....
