Weed Id please.

This stuff is starting to crowd out St Augustine in some areas of my lawn. Atrazine sets it back but does not eliminate it. Too hot for Atrazine now anyway. I tried Celsius WG on it a week ago and am seeing some minor yellowing of the leaf. Too early to tell if the plants will die.

The image has both grass and nutgrass.

The images contain only one plant all of which is attached to the rizome extending to the right. Also there are no "nuts" attached to the roots, or any of the roots on any of these weeds I remove.

The flower in the second image is mature and does not expand out like a nutsedge flower does. From the green state the flower is in the image the flower turns brown and does not change shape or size of any appreciable amount.

Kyllinga might be what it is. I have never heard the name before that I can recall. One of the articles I read said that Kyllinga can grow up to 20" tall. The ones in my lawn stay 3" or 4" tall plus a little more for the flower stem. Maybe because the lawn is mowed ?

Here is a link to a picture of a nutsedge flower next to several flowers in various stages of development from the weed in my lawn. Was not difficult to find a nutsedge flower either.
