Window size & type advice

last modified: 9 years ago

I need window advice asap. We are doing an extension off the back of our 1933 center hall colonial. We currently have double hung windows with 6 divided lights on top in the existing part of the house. In the new part I have added sliders in the back as well as an awning window and have the grids that can be put in if I want to maintain a more traditional look. I need to decide what size window to place between the slider and the other kitchen window on the right (which is over the sink). This window will be in front of my farmhouse table. I can go as wide as 5 ft and if I do an awning window can do 3.5 ft high. Is there another window configuration I should consider? Should I go taller and narrower. Anything else I should consider? My contractor is using Anderson 4000 series windows.

Inside view One end of table will be centered on this opening. The opening is just roughed in with plywood right now

Outside view new window goes where tyvek paper ends
