Are you quilting this weekend? Sept. 1-3

I am not feeling very well today. I think I caught a cold from the granddaughters I do want to do some sewing this weekend. I am still working on UFOs.

I am also planning the quilts for the grandsons' new bunk beds. Thank you for all the ideas

Are you sewing or quilting this weekend?

LInda, I hope you feel better soon! I have a cold, too. I thought Zicam had headed it off earlier this week, but Thurs. and Fri. it came back. I don't feel terrible, just coughing and some congestion, but I have no energy. :(

I think I will spend a lot of the weekend corralling and organizing pictures from our trip that were taken with a variety of devices. I need to do it while it's still fresh in my mind!

If I get any sewing time I think I'll get another top loaded on the frame for quilting.

I am visiting a friend today, but I plan on being in my sewing room Sunday and Monday. If nothing else, maybe I can clean it up.

Kind of busy this weekend with a cookout tomorrow. Might get a little in but not much. Son and family are coming and were planning on bringing the new lab pups. But with all the rain and more coming not sure if this is a good idea. We have poor drainage off of our property on the South side and there is standing stagnant water out there. Unless they keep a tight leash on them I'm afraid they will make a beeline for it. I don't care that they would get wet and nasty but that stagnant water has a tendency to cause skin irritations on dogs, especially their paws. My dog has stopped doing that now that she is grown but when she was a pup she loved romping through there and then we would wind up treating her paws with Vetericyn afterwards. I wanted to see how the pups would like the pool but it might not be doable with all the storms we've been having. As for the cookout, it's going to be smoked ribs and salmon so they will be covered even if it does rain.

Love salmon, yum. Once I get the another coat of paint on the headboard, I am sandwiching the quilt. It's so big, I'm going to have to do it on the floor. I enlarged the pattern and figured out everything I needed, but the finished size is a lot bigger than what I had planned. Not sure where I went wrong, but par for the course for me. I cleaned my sewing room yesterday, so I'm all ready to quilt it.

In between filling trash bags with basement debris, I take a break and do some cutting. In fact, I was doing that at 3 this morning. Hard to sleep when you know what is waiting down there. I filled a couple of bags with yards and part yards of polycotton for the local thrift store. And I purged the notions drawer as well. nice to get some things moving, but I would have preferred doing it at my own speed.

Adjuster/contractor comes tomorrow for an assessment. Wish me luck.!

I hope to get to some quilting. Volunteering at my son's school today and at a local church tomorrow - sorting and organizing donations for Harvey victims. Waiting for water to drain from friend's house so we can clean up. The mayor warned that it may be 2weeks before the water recedes. Can't imagine what will be left of those homes.
