My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.
Hard to tell but the big vanda has 2 small fans on the bottom that now are both spiking. This vanda refused to bloom until it got so big it is unmanageable. If I can't trade it to a local, then I may have to cut it in 3. I'd rather trade it...
The name is vanda tessellata x vanda coerulea, I saw a bunch of these at Banjong orchids in Krome ave in the redlands (near homestead FL) this past May and by the way, plants with several growths and multiple spikes went for a couple of hundred dollars Plus, and they had a ton of blooming plants. They get the temperature (warmth) tolerance from tessellata as coerulea is a cool grower from the foot hills of the Himalayas and growth habit, short leaf width and overall growth pattern from coerulea. If you want to grow a vanda coerulea in South Florida this is about as close as you can get. Its nice to see and know that coerulea is a parent of this plant. I had always wanted to try growing v. coerulea... could not find one that was affordable, as not many growers had it, due to it did not like the heat of South FL
