Our Walk-Out Basement

We want to paint our basement. There is a staircase, a hallway, bedroom off the hallway and a family room. There is a full bath off the family room that will not be painted. Our question is can we paint the staircase and hallway a neutral color and the bedroom a different color and the family room another different color? We would have 3 different paint colors in the area. We also are working off of the bathroom with teal wallpaper and a yellow-gold leather 4 cushion sofa in the family room. What colors would you suggest?

If it has a door, then it can have its own color scheme.

The only exception to this is if people would flow between two space such as a living room and a guest bathroom.

Paint the bedroom whatever color. Pick complimenting colors for the stairs/hallway and the living room.
