It's too busy for me. Sometimes "less is more" I would go with the white subway tile because the granite is busy.

White or black accessories - keep it simple ..

If you replace, suggest something simple that reads as a single color and matches one of the colors in the counter.

I actually did the white arabesque in my bathroom. I should have followed into the kitchen but wanted everything different.

thank you! I haven't tried anything on the countertops yet as this was a major design change from southwest style (very tan and rustic). I am looking at LeCrueset salt & pepper and kettle in the oyster color and silver and crystal accessories.

I agree that it doesn't work well, but if you don't have the $ to replace it, I think you could minimize it. I see you've got a window above the sink, maybe a bright curtain/paint the shutters a bright color? Adding some accessories could cause the back splash to recede a bit.

I like that idea. I think a valance starting at the ceiling will break up it up a bit.

Maybe a very simple roman shade over the window to hide the extra tile and deflect the attention.

It's too busy for countertop ..

I have Berwyn, so I know its a bit of a project. Its busy so I went with 3 x 12 white subway tiles, looks fine.

It is a bit busy but I think I like it. Once you put your stuff on the counter tops you may too. Try not to focus on it and give it a few weeks to grow on you.

Hi, Stunning kitchen. Yes the backsplash is busy, but try adding a different element into the kitchen...wood...maybe? Using a cutting board, something for utensils, clear glass container...bring items in ...place them, move them, toss them...just keep trying ... you will find the right pieces that work. One idea if you like to show off dishes you could take the inset door panels out...replace with glass on the cabinets to the left in the picture. You need a little color here also. Good Luck!

I like it! I like busy backsplash and it doesn’t really have to match the countertop but the cabinets and the floor also are parts that have to be harmonized. I just did mine and I have brown granite counter with a bit of gray and black veins and just got my mosaic gray, back and clear backsplash! I’m happy with my choice.

The backsplash pattern is too busy and the colors do not go with the counter. Did you bring home a few samples to see them with the counter? Accessories will not help. I would have a new backsplash installed….in a color that matches a color in the counter material. A professional tiler will know how to remove the backsplash tiles without damaging them.

I like it, not too busy except got to coordinate counter and splash with other deco elements.

If you have the money to do over what would you want to do? I think you like the backsplash but it’s fighting with countertop. Change just the outer perimeter counters to a subtle color without the busy pattern. Trying to cover it up with a bunch of stuff on the counter defeats the purpose I think.

Let me start with I am not a professional. I think without any accessories yet the backsplash and the counter tops are fighting each other for attention and that is emphasizing how busy both patterns are. Someone suggested using wood accessories and I love that idea because wood bring so much warmth to a modern kitchen, I plan on using my stash of wooden accessories in mine once I am finished remodeling. Someone said the colors of the counters and the tile do not match, I zoomed around on your photo and that may be a function of the lighting and or, how it shows up on camera. If that continues to be a problem you could add some under cabinet lighting at the same color temperature. If you still don’t like the backsplash and money is an issue, you could consider replacing some of the tiles with pain white tile in the same shape. When all is said and done, the best kitchens I have ever been in are the ones filled with people who enjoy cooking and are crammed with people and lively conversation.
