Nice place! Touches of industrial would look great.

We decorated my daughter's contemporary condo mixed industrial/steam punk and it looks amazing. Painted the open wall with the stairs (2story high) deep red and the rooms a pale greige. Blueprints blown up as art, industrial coffee table, collection of world globes, gears But I think the trick is enough to get the feel, but not too much. Contemporary has space and not a lot of 'stuff'.

The shiny white does work against the industrial feel. Might do better in smaller rooms, especially if the floor is wood there. Agree that I'd do it a little at a time, for leavening.

I agree that modern style is probably the best style to blend with the newer industrial furniture designs. The white will look great against the metal, iron, and wood finishes of industrial design if you want some contrast and classic lines.

There's "industrial" and there is "industrial grunge" ... if you stay away from the grunge part, it could look good as accent pieces.

It is the "Industrial grunge" that I do love, However I realise that it wouldn't work in this space. Hoping if I stick to the more "modern industrial" and have accent pieces over fully decking it out, it could work.

This is a beach house. Industrial should be used in very small doses.

@nosoccermom - Thank you so much. I love it! Our stairs are a very dark wood too. I Love wood as the main pieces of furniture & either white/black accents.

Look at Scandinavian style/decor. Lots of white with wood, black, and natural accessories. Also, texture, such as faux fur, baskets, etc. But still clean, unfussy lines.
