Thanks for all the comments on the River Bordeaux granite on the island and tile selection with maple cabinets (http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/4803665/tagged-the-river-bordeaux-crema-marfil-for-the-perimeter?n=4) .

The comments on highlighting the yellow vs gray in the floor tile got me thinking about my perimeter counter top that is TBD soon.

Here's what I have so far

1) better lit part of kitchen, east facing, pic in natural light

2) north facing part of kitchen, lower light, picture in natural light

biondanonima and herbflavors comments got me thinking about the amount of yellow in my color choices. I dont have an issue with the maple color that I have selected but I am now considering greys/greens for the perimeter.

My choices so far are

1) River bordeaux in perimeter - the consensus here was that RB would be fine in the perimeter but based on earlier comments from FeatherBe and zippity , I think I might not like my orange kitchenaid mixer or my red/orange la creuset set on display on the busy granite. Perhaps I will get used to it over time but since I have a wee bit of time , I could look at other options.

2) Crema Marfil quartz- too bland for my RB island and add more on the yellowish palette?, not a contender any more.

3) which brings me to light/medium warm gray/green quartz that might go with the RB ? Any suggestions ? So many gray kitchens here, can you show me a counter top you used or considered using that might go with my River Bordeaux island ?
