My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Wandering Stitchers' Retreat

Here are some details for the retreat.

We can arrive after 10 am Wed Oct 11 and must be out by 10 am Sun Oct 15th. Cost per room is $312. If you share you split the cost. Linens are included, but you will need personal items like soap, shampoo, ...


So far I have Tim and me, Jackie, Teresa, Sue, Linda, and hopefully Jennifer. There is plenty of room so feel free to join us. Tim will be going to hike more of the AT so anything we need him to do will have to be done on Wed.


We will be preparing our own meals and will work out details. Usually we all live on the snack table and sandwiches for breakfast and lunch, then fix something for dinner. I'm bringing some vegetable soup and will make cornbread for dinner on Wed. Cookware, microwave, stove, and coffee pot are available.


I will be bringing a tote of strips to share, and my AccuQuilt cutter, so you can try it out if you want. Don't have a lot of dies yet, but will bring what I have. We will also have available cutting mat, rotary cutters, rulers, iron(s), ironing board(s), tables, and chairs. There is Wifi so we can post pictures, but from time to time it is slow. We will play LRC so bring some charms in primary colors this year. If you don't have primary colors in your stash, just bring what ever you have, we won't complain. Usually use 10 per game, so perhaps 50 or so.


We usually have an epic snack table. I'm bringing the oatmeal cookies, mice, and pound cake. If there are any special requests just let me know.

    Sounds good to me. I will do chicken salad and pimento cheese for lunches. And whatever strikes my fancy at the store when I stop for bread. :)

      I am flying in, but will stop at the store to pick up groceries on my way (after a stop at Mary Jos!). Will probably pick up a lasagne again and the fixings for that, if that sounds okay with everyone. We will see what snacks will fit in my backpack and suitcase, once the fabric is in ...

      Sue, that sounds good to me, but don't worry about bringing snacks on the plane unless you really want to. We will let you supply napkins and coffee that you can get when you get the lasagna. Especially the coffee.

      I will do some kind of lunch time stuff once we get a definite number. I can do like I did last year and get several different things.

      I plan to bring coffee, homemade breads for breakfast and the snack table. I will pick up some fruit when I stop at Lowe's on the way in. I want to do a dinner, but can't make a decision on what would be easy and different from what is being done. Any suggestions? Something with chicken - I think maybe a chicken pot pie that I can partially prep at home. Yeah, that's the ticket!

      Shall we plan to eat up leftovers on Saturday night? There should be plenty, and if not we can get pizza.

      Things are looking better for me to come. Won't arrive until VERY late Wed. night (don't count on me for dinner), or maybe Thursday...still working out details.

      Have no idea what projects I would even bring.... Guess I'll figure that out that Tuesday ! lol
