I'm frustrated by two Aucubas that are very leggy, 3 feet high after several years with just a hand full of leaves on each long stalk. It appears they are reaching for light, but these do okay in deep shade, right? This is under story medium shade with good diffracted light.

Site is kept moist and the soil is decent for the first foot but gradually becomes clay.
