Sure, same as any other grass, kill your existing lawn, scalp, spread KBG seed. But you're running very late for your location to seed KBG, killing the existing grass takes a while and KBG takes 2-3 weeks to germinate, so you're pushing well into October before you even see germination.

gle- I thought you were in Mass...?

Maine might be tough to seed now

Hi Joe,

I do live in Mass.

We have a small seasonal cottage in a 200 cottage community in Maine that is open from May 1st thru Oct 31st . I found the weather in Maine is very similar to where I am in Mass. I think it's because it's about 2 mile to the ocean.

Yup and another lawn...that keeps be busy and be-fuddled!!!!

j4c11/Joe do you guys think scalping the very thin remaining lawn and raking up the dead looking lawn; there is visible soil now. Would that be good enough to spread the KBG seed?

Thanks

As long as seed makes good contact with soil you should be good. Keep it moist!
