If budget is an issue, the chrome version of any fixture is always the cheapest one. You also don't have to use just one finish. Depending on the tiles/colors used in each bathroom a different faucet finish might look better in different bathrooms.

I prefer POLISHED nickel! It's very warm and classic.

Is polished nickel the same as satin nickel or chrome? I have not seem any selections for polished nickel. I have just used brushed or satin nickel for the last two houses and don't want to just get stuck in a rut. LOL

To me, chrome is a very cool-toned metal. Brushed nickel is warmer, and if you are incorporating any of the new gold or champaign toned light fixtures or cabinet hardware...I think brushed nickel plumbing fixtures blend better.

We're doing oil rubbed bronze everywhere EXCEPT the bathrooms. I like the clean look of chrome in bathrooms.

I like shiny metal especially in the bath. We have chrome or polished nickel in our baths. Chrome is hardier as nickel will tarnish.

Chrome. It's cheaper, works in any design scheme, and if you need to replace an item in 10-15 years is certain to still be available -- that's not a given with the more trendy metals.

This is one of those things that seems so, so important when you're making the choice ... but, in the end, blends in and isn't all that notable.

I'd planned on brushed nickel for the Master bath, but wasn't able to find all the hardware in that. So I moved to chrome. I'm satisfied.

You'll have more style options over a greater variety of objects in your bath if you do chrome.
