The image is too small to read. Make sure you walk through the structure with the electrician before the rough electrical work starts. Visualize furniture placement as they describe where the electrical elements will be.

Electrical, lighting and signal plans are very complex and take a great deal of thought and planning. As Mark suggests, it's essential that furniture placement and arrangement be clearly understood so that the necessary devices may be used.

I doubt many folks here will be able to give much help on this since you are the only one who knows how you will live in the house.

Take some time, and some tracing paper, and lay out all your fixtures, furnishings and equipment to see what their needs may be.

Have you started building the house? We did electrical on paper but before the electrical rough in was started, I walked the house with the electricians and my foreman and double checked where I wanted everything and made changes to the plans.

I won't be able to do that as it's a custom prefab. So I really do need to have it planned out ahead of time.

I can't make out much on this. Some thoughts: You should add some lighting between dining room and staircase. Recessed lights in the kitchen should be over the counter, not over the walkway (over walkway in front of fridge is ok). Consider floor outlets in the living room. HTH.

@simstress. We will have under cabinet lighting and 3 sconces over the windows in the kitchen (south). Do the pots still need to be over the counters...I was thinking they were to add light to the entire space more than task lighting. Thoughts please?

Would you add another ceiling fixture in the LR? There is one in the DR plus kitchen island. Would another ceiling light/fan be over kill in the living room? Maybe this is better to view?
