The house has potential. Removing the added on entry and reworking the enclosed porch would make a big difference.

Cream Fleece or Coastal Fog trim. I love the use of the black window trim as well.

Paint the rusty flagpole to match the darkest color on the trim, too. Cara's color scheme is beautiful.

THe biggest impact and way to update it is to paint the white thing. If you want to save money, start with black window trim and a bright colored door. Cranberry could be great.

Also, I'd update the landscaping, adding a curved path from the driveway to front door, and a couple of larger bushes at edge of house at drive.

this one look nice w/your roof color. you could change the SandyHOok gray to another tone like cream, or a light gray tone. Inner sashes in the dark gray.

love this one too (not the rust color) Revere pewter for body, white trim and blue door (or the red door). do the inner sashes in the blue as well.

yes,,it's very handsome. I do like the rust as an accent color. it will pick up the roof tone. use some rust colored plants in the flower beds (Flax is one) and that color in ceramic planters with similar color flowers.

what would really look good is copper rain gutters! (or the aluminum ones in the copper color) and the copper colored exterior lighting

or paint ones you may have w/metallic copper paint!

I would spray paint the storm window trim black as well to match the new window sash paint. Carla's color suggestions are spot on. Removing the enclosure on the front entry extension will help, too. Cute house and good luck!

I'm going to be a busy guy! I'm looking to replace my windows and get the black exterior trim and take out the storm door. What would you include with the trim paint? My house feels so featureless compared to the example you gave.

what do you mean "include w/the trim paint"? The new windows w/black exterior will look sharp. then just decide what bases color you want to go with. I hope you decide to do the copper elements as well.

your house will be awesome when painted and the other items discussed utilized. some landscaping/hardscaping will also go a long way.

Grey, white and some black would look good! And red doors! I'm currently doing a house in Rancho palos verdes, the doors are being painted a more Burgundy red but overall the house is grey with white trim and some black. I'll post pictures once it's done! The house is similar to yours

The picture is not detailed enough to show the bricks in the entryway. The right corner of the house is also a brick column.

i would think that whatever you do to one brick, you should do to all.

might be nice to do some contrast with them, but I guess it depends on what colors you're going with.
