Tony, how are you doing? Everything ok here. Paw-paw's were great, people and neighbors had their fill. Have not expend paw-paw at all,neither my persimmon, just grafted a few R/B's. Figs were lousy, too much rain, but grafted a couple of Violette de solies, they are getting big on Ch.. hardy and an unknown.

Omaha weather go hot early his year and all the fruit trees got a head start. I have been eating American persimmon in early September especially Meader and H-118. Prok and the rest are turning light orange now. I top worked my Nikita's Gift to a more hardier Hybrids: I left on branch of NG and the rest are Rossyanka, JT-02 and one branch will be Kasandra. All the new Hybrids came from Cliff at England Orchard. nuttrees.net. My Honey Jar Jujube are super loaded this year and they are the best jujube that I have eaten so far. Sweet, crunchy, very productive in full sun and more juice than any other jujube varieties. I grafted a total of 8 Honey Jars. My pawpaws are doing awesome this year too. The coons and possums are start to noticed how good the fruits are so I will have to set some traps. My Ichi Asian persimmon only produce a dozen fruits each year and that with some winter protection. I may top work it to JT-02 ( probable the best tasting Hybrid out there. It blows away the Kakis in taste). Did any of our Pluots produce any fruits?

Fence is mainly for deer. Racoons and armadillo's can get in there but i trap those guys and possums. Squirls is year around, they get lazer treatments. Not too much problems. Your sionwood turn into big tree's and yes they were loaded, thanks Tony. I had a big persimmon drop with all the rain but still have way too much. Friends and neighbors be happy again. I read that you are given-up on asian's persimmon, yes i was going to ask you if you have any success with the R/B's?

No, i do not grow Honey Jar, like to, have to buy a tree, too old to start from seed, Tony.

Burntridge has Honey Jar for around $30. They will sold out real quick.

Some people are sensitive to killing with riffles or even hearing about it, since my riffle has a lazer on it this is what i keep them in check.

Prok American persimmons are excellent. They are large, thin skin, and rich.

Bob, the last photo of the pawpaw is the Halvin pawpaw. Tyler Halvin swap the scion with me a couple years ago and I grafted it on my Shenandoah. The fruit is excellent. I think he found this wild pawpaw in IOWA.

Tony, i think this persimmon is from that guy( from Japan) that gave me sionwood through a friend of mine. If i am not mistaken i thought i gave you some sticks, don't remember, will see what they taste like. Sions were not compatible with the natives.

Tony that Halvin how does it compare to all the others you grow, better than Mango?

It is about the same taste as Mango and Shenandoah.

Sure, i can send you some, have 3 varieties, black is the least winter hardy. They would die to the ground but come right back up in the spring with new growth. Black bamboo turn black after the second year so in your case they stay green. Besides you have mulch it a bit, Yellow and green are all ok.
