I checked that link, Jackie, the PBS on there is already covered on the other PBS we will still have but it looks like the same programming. This one that's closing down is the one with the sewing/gardening, etc. shows that aren't being shown of the one that is staying. I'll check back later when I'm really having a melt-down over this when it goes away. Maybe there's more on it than the remaining one we will have left. I'm just in a frustrated mood today with the storm problems. Last night we got a horrible lengthy thunder storm, over 3 inches. We already have too much water out there and this morning the one route out of only 2 in my area was shut down because of flooding which means going MILES out of the way until it drains away. My back is threatening to go out, and now this. Just call me Wendy the Whiner. :(

Rita, try PBS.org. There are tons of great programs there. I don't know about quilting though. So sorry. I can't find any quilting shows on our four PBS stations.

We only get the Fons and Porter show at 6 am. out of PBS Detroit. It gets taped.

Rita, we haven't been able to find much on TV that's interesting. We're looking forward to watching college football though.

I read that many people are opting out of cable. Must admit though that's there not that much on Netflix I want to watch either. I tend to watch stuff over and over in the evening when I'm done for the day and just want to relax. How about some suggestions for Netflix for everyone. I'm enjoying a British show on finding a new house. I'll get the name later for you. Love seeing inside the homes and the countryside.

I subscribe to our PBS station's Passport for only $5 a month with lots of good quilting and sewing shows. Also, YouTube has tons of quilting videos and how-to programs. With Passport, Roku for Acorn and BritBox, and Chromecast to watch the internet on my TV, I've pretty much got everything I want to watch and I'm saving about $100 a month compared to when I had Direct TV. I'm currently watching Downton Abbey again using Passport and Chromecast after a hiatus of a couple of years. It's still good entertainment!

I'm a Canadian so our programming is a bit different up here, but what kind of quilting shows are you talking about?? I would love to see them. I'm starting up my own little Youtube "tips show" for quilting next month and I would love to see any kind of popular programming from the US so I could compare and contrast my own show :)

On this station that's going away, we have "Sewing with Nancy", not all quilting but quite a bit. We also get "Fresh Quilting" - this is a new one and is all based on modern quilts. "Quilting Arts" mostly art quilts, and the old standbys - "Quilt in a Day" with Eleanor Burns and Fons and Porters' quilt show. Since none of these are on the other PBS station we will be losing all of them. So I'm not happy.
