LED closet lighting?

We are trying to finalize lighting this week for our new build and I'm coming up empty on closet lights.

We have 6 closets that are 4-5 ft wide with french/pair doors to open, and 2 closets that are 7 feet wide with bypass doors. We're going to do an automatic light for the french door closets that turns on when they open and off when it closes. We'll do switches for the other two.

How much light (lumens) should I be looking for here and do I need to go with something linear or can a single 7 - 14 inch fixture in the middle do the job? I don't want to mess with a dimmer here and I don't want it to be blinding without it, which is a real possibility with LEDs!

(Also, our lights throughout the house are going to be 3000k but we are considering 2700k for the bedrooms and more like 3500 for bathrooms/kitchen/closet. Would a closet light that is different in temperature from the room light be jarring?)
