advice about sowing seed

I posted this in a different part of the forum and did not get any responses, so I am trying again here.

I have an established perennial garden but am a novice when it comes to growing from seed. I have seed taken in the last few weeks from many perennials and I am wondering when to sow them. Should I do it now, or is it better to wait until spring . . . and if it is better to wait till spring, WHEN in spring?

I was thinking of sowing them today--weather is hot and sunny today and tomorrow, then cooler temperatures and rain over the next 2 weeks (https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/14-day-weather-trend/manitoba/winnipeg)

When I do sow them, can I just scatter them around the garden and hope for the best?

Here are some of the seeds I have:

helenium

digitalis

astrantia

zebra mallow

pink musk mallow

sidalcea "Party Girl" (mini hollyhock)

brunnera (not sure of variety)

giant scabious

maltese cross
