I do not understand the dimentions: 40'' x 80".

I have two doors that need a cover. A single door and a double door (french doors). Would I need to cut down this item for the single door and no or less cutting for the double doors?

I have seen your listed dimensions and read a review with listed dimension of 77x40, I am concerned about the exact width. I have a double door encased by brick on the sides and wood above. The opening between the brick facade for the door is exactly 78.5 inches wide all the way up to the window above the door. I want to mount the awning just below the window either to the masonry or between the masonry onto wood. In order to mount to the masonry it would need to be 79-80" wide, if smaller it could be mounted to the wood. I also live in Corpus Christi TX on Padre Island so we do get regular wind here. Please advise on exact dimensions if possible.
