Can you show a picture of the skinny leaves on the other stem that are just visible at the bottom right of the picture? They look as if they might have herbicide damage or a virus. If I'm wrong I wouldn't worry about raspberry leaves looking scruffy at this time of year.

I will try. I did have to use a pesticide earlier in the season. As far as I know it's never been sprayed with anything other than fungicide 3 or sulfur. It did have a primocane with cane blight that has been removed. I have only had this plant in the ground for about a month. Cherry tomatoes were planted nearby the summer before last and they were healthy. Before that beefsteaks were nearby and they got horned caterpillars. My mom said she sprayed in the area before we planted it so I am wondering if it may be herbicide injury. She just told me. Bless her heart she was trying to help. Can you verify this by looking at the picture?
