What is this grass?

I wanted to start a separate trail from my bentgrass/poa triv/tenacity trail, to try and figure out what this grass is (if it's not bentgrass or poa triv, is it really just new grass coming in and, if it is, do you think it will eventually darken)?

Thanks as always!

My first guess was poa T. Without looking very closely at the leaf/stem who knows? (not my strongest attribute) You can let it grow out just a little... and I think poa T will lay flat. (Looks like a large animal laid in your lawn for awhile.)

I thought poa triv as well, but the lawn company swore to me it wasn't...

Recent overseed? It could very well be young grass. Hmmm.

Do not make a mistake by assuming lawn service companies are a turfgrass authority. Just like anything else, some are knowledgeable and some are not.

Understood, but it also would have been in their interest to simply lie and say it was poa triv, as I had them come over to give me an estimate to kill it and then reseed. So, by swearing up and down that it was simply new grass, they were out potentially a good deal of money. That being said, you're right, there is still a chance they are totally wrong...

It certainly doesn't hurt to wait and see. It's a little late to be seeding fescue at this point anyways.

Thanks. Yeah, at this point I'm definitely not seeding anymore, and will just wait to see what happens.

Question; 3 weeks after seeding, is it possible for TTTFescue to look like the pics above? Or is there no way it would have grown so tall/thick so soon?

How about some closeups? Baby tttf can certainly be lighter but that's pretty light. Lime green is the hallmark color for poa triv. While you irrigate for the overseed, poa triv would thrive.

There should be some closeups above (if you click on them it should zoom in/show them much larger). If it doesn't work I'll try to take some better pics. Some of the grass is actually starting to darken, and may be ok, but other spots I still think are bad (and think the lawn company told me the wrong thing). I'll have to either send in a sample for analysis, or find someone who truly knows what they are talking about to come look at it, otherwise I fear I'll just keep going in circles...
