I would really appreciate some help with my split system AC. I live in NYC and want to put in a split system AC for my heating and cooling. My issue is the coop board will not allow me to place the unit outside so I have put it next to my window.

We are going to use a Fujitsu AOU45RLXFZ unit which is 39 high x 39 long and 14 inch deep. You can see in the attached picture we are planning on having it touch the ceiling and ducting to the window which we will replace with a metal louver.

It just doesn't seem like a great option as we will have to drop the ceiling significantly to maintain the appropriate clearances for the unit.

For any AC experts can we just place the unit right up against the window? Or move it closer to the window?

Would really appreciate any advice or suggestions.
