I bought an older home in need of renovation and it has a big 2 car detached cinderblock garage. The house is going to be finished in iron grey hardieboard siding with a black dimensional architectural shingle roof and white guttering and windows and trim. What should I do with this garage? I'm going to replace the roof to match the house, of course. My initial thought was having it finished off like the house, but a friend of mine suggested painting it to match the house instead of siding it. Thoughts? And of course I will be replacing the windows too - it is in an upcoming gentrification area, so sturdy windows are essential.
