You can get creative with mounting knobs and attaching the curtains. Many different tutorials on line for different cleaver options if you google, "arched window treatments".

You could use anything simple made from wood vs. ornate as shown above. I'd have them long enough so you can tie them back for when you want them open so they still reach the floor.

A more simple option and looks nice too if you get the right mounting pieces that work in your room with your own personal style.

Maybe 4 brackets: 1 on each side of window, 1 at each corner

Amy, you just need enough mounted so you can close them and also so you can open them and attach them back left and right. You can get as creative as you like.

Ceiling rod with a middle support. If you want sound absorption, you need heavy interlined curtains. The heavier, the better. Try ready made lined cotton velvet curtains to which you add extra blackout linings. Use velcro on the sides to attach the curtain to the wall. Also, check the weatherstripping on the windows to see if it needs to be replaced. Additional heavy fabric furnishings such as a thick window seat cushion, wool tapestries or big wall quilts, and a thick wall to wall rug with heavy duty pad will help quite a bit.

HI -- You need 96 inch long drapes with the rod 2 inches from ceiling and full width of that wall with four support brackets ...one at each end and two at each side of arch ... yes you have room. I think you could have blinds just covering the windows with the drapes over . There should be great shops in NY for redi-made drapes and fixtures .

Should the curtains go all the way to the floor or to the top of the bench ?

I would say to have them reach to just under the window frame and to help with balance be sure to add a long cushion and pillows. This way, the drapery doesn't take over that section and the bench becomes the focal point.

HI -- I think you said there is 8 ft. from the ceiling to the bench so 96 inch long drapes will be to the top of the bench .
