I live in a 1924 craftsman and my kitchen is very similar to yours, even to the 2 different gray wall colors, although my countertops are a little darker. I had my wood floor refinished to match those in the rest of the house;
I have been quite pleased with it, they were able to match the color very closely, and I used woven wood shades to repeat the wood tones at the windows. I think it's a classic look that will last forever, and will look good with red, yellow, or whatever accent colors you choose.
