From the markings it seems that the stairs entry to first floor is from inside the house. It may be difficult for the people living on the ground floor to open the door every time a first floor resident comes. In case its one family - please excuse the query.

I would recommend to reduce porch width and increase the living room width by a ft or two. You can use the smaller room wall for kitchen cabinets as well.
