Paulownia tomentosa?

Not Paulownia which has heart shaped opposite leaves.... not like the photo above which shows alternate.

Yes, I couldn't find photos, and I should have checked to see if it was opposite or alternate.

White Basswood (Tilia americana var. heterophylla) might be a better match?

Virginia

I thought about that one, too, and was just comparing the venation..... but I don't see any serrations and would like better photos.

I will try again tomorrow. This pic was taken back in June. What would be more helpful ...a photo of the trunk of the tree, and a close up of one or two leaves ?

Everything you can provide. The trunk, a single leaf close up.... to show the base of the leaf.

The leaves of Tilia species have rounded bases that are asymmetrical on either side of the petiole.

The above is a quote from :

I enlarged the photo and tried to shapen it...don't know if this was any help

Tilia sp for sure.

If it's not Tilia, it could be red mulberry, if there is fuzziness on the leaves.

Tilia leaves can get pretty big on suckers and fresh growth after cutting back so these may be atypical for whatever species it is. But I'm sure it's a Tilia.

Here are a few more close ups.

Well I had 3 pics and only 2 came through. Here is the 3rd one of the trunk.

It's prb'ly Tilia, but just as an example I show a red x white mulberry branch:

Thanks for all the responses, you all are great at what you do. !
