Eggshell sheen on Smooth Drywall?

We're getting smooth drywall (a level 4 I believe) in our new home build. Since they will only be skim coating the joints, not the entire wall's surface, we were told to use flat paint (as opposed to semi-gloss or high-gloss) so the joints are not visible. We will have quite a bit of natural light in our main living area.

But we have young kids and I've read flat / matte paint sheen can be difficult to wipe clean / touch up. So wondering, is eggshell sheen safe to use on a level 4 smooth drywall job? We'll be going with a nearly white paint color if that makes a difference.

Thanks!
