Need help with kitchen makeover

I have just bought my first home and have had 3 jobs done so far. I have felt totally overwhelmed and unprepared for the questions I was asked and decisions I had to make, so hoping I can get some advice before the nest job! I am single without anyone who I can really ask for help so apologies if these are stupid questions!

Kitchen Makeover; the kitchen is fine but not to my taste. I want to remove the wall units and put in shelves, remove the wall tiles and re-tile, lay new floor, spray the cabinets, replace the counter tops and sink. The thing is I don't know what order to do it in.

My guess:

Remove wall units

Re-tile/paint

Respray cabinets

Replace counter tops & sink

Lay floor

If anyone can let me know if I am on the right track that would be great.

Agree w/PP --> is there a way to change that door to a pocket door, or a wall-mount slider?

Can you show us photos of the kitchen? It sounds like you have a lot of work to do, and it you may be able to improve the function of the kitchen while you're at it.

So, a 20K refresh job instead of s 60K gut. Call a local KD who will work directly with you in your home and who will have the proper contacts in the trades for all of those jobs.

It's a pretty small kitchen! I've a friend who can refit the counter tops, sink and put up the shelving but need a professional for the tiling and cabinet spray :)

Is that door usually closed? It looks like it would be very awkward otherwise.

Is there room in the laundry area to change the door swing, change to a pocket door, or barn door?

You may want tp compare the cost of spraying cabinets and doors versus IKEA cabs especially if you can hit a cabinet sale.

I think your cabinets are pretty! And I agree with the others about the door - I would remove it for now, to see if you even need a door there.

Rayrayl, I am going to second AnnKH and say your cabinets are quite pretty as they are. Before painting them, could you make some of the other changes first?
