BM Pale Oak vs. Old Prairie?

Long room with only one window. Looking for a warm white/greige. Want to go lighter than what we have now.

Any opinions on Benjamin Moore Old prairie, pale oak or Halo?

Your fireplace and floor are going to clue you in about which one will look best. If you've narrowed your choices down to those three, get samples, paint up some testers and take a look at how the colors work with the FP and floor.

You can order a sample of Buckwheat H02 by MS from My Perfect Color .

If it ends up that's the one you want, you can take the hand-painted sample to the paint store and ask for a custom mix.

Hi! Maybe something like SW Shoji White? Glidden has a shade called Natural Wicker that is similar to Buckwheat Flour, but is lighter and could stand as a warm white. I still have tons of those old Martha Stewart color cards from her paint line! Your example pic looks like it could be the popular BM Edgecomb Gray, maybe you could try a sample of that and see what undertone it pulls in your room? With the one window you might not be getting a ton of natural light though. Good luck with your search!

We are having the same problem! We tried pale oak and classic gray and revere pewter and are getting lots of wierd undertones from all of them. I’m not giving up yet!!

What did you decide? I’m still searching lol!

@mom2co, you didn't like Edgecomb gray?

It looks very light grey . It’s cold and sterile in our room :(looking to warm it up with a warm off white/tan. Possibly BM natural linen 966.

I’ve got another thread with this same discussion: https://www.houzz.com/discussions/sw-canvas-tan-dsvw-vd~5634338

    What about BM Balboa Mist?

Thank you. On my monitor that looks pretty gray. I’m looking for a warm light tan/beige color. The room I’m painting does not get much light. I’m looking for a non gray color.

I used BM Natural Cream - also a greige. Not sure it's warm enough for what you're looking for...

Thank you!! Back to the drawing board. This is tough! Anyone used Brookdale Brown or Manchester Tan? The color I’m searching for may not exist. Lol

Manchester Tan might be a good option for you.

What is that original color on your walls? I love it - I want it!

Ballet White is not warm. It reads as a soft yellow in my home.
