Window air conditioner acting weird

The compressor is not kicking in, but a kilowatt shows that the unit is using a 79 watts for about half an hour and then it consumes 109 watts and seems to stay there as the compressor never kicks in. Any ideas?

What you are asking is what hvac techs do. If knowledge,tools and opertunity to inspect were not necessary,homeowners would do it them selves. My wag is defective blower motor. 79 to 109 watts is not enough to drive a blower. Compressor will not function unless blower functions at 100%.

Yes, the blower is running, thank you. Blower is running on high speed. I don't know why the water consumption goes from 79 to 109 watts.

Even if you figured out what is wrong, what would be your plan? It is cheaper to buy a new one than trying to hire someone to fix it.

I already altered by splitting a de humidifier so that it works as a heat pump to give me heat because I live in Maine now I want to play with this air conditioner so that I can do the same. It was free.

Some larger split unit compressors have heaters. I don't know, however, if that is ever seen on compressors of this class.
