I think the current layout can work. It just needs more substantial furnishings.

I have a Calking bed, large chest of drawers, 2 night stands and a bench. I am downsizing, so I have a lot of other furniture I could incorporate if needed.

The entry door is near the fireplace.

I agree with er612..."I think the current layout can work. It just needs more substantial furnishings." Everything is so pastel that the eye has no where to focus. Section the room into three areas. One. By your windows. promote the setting area, add a couple of chairs and a table or two with lamps, for a reading nook. Add some drapery with a lovely pattern (doesn't have to be all dark colors). Ground this with a rug which will help show the area as it's own space. Two. In the middle place your bed. Try a larger piece of art over the head board, or whatever your bed looks like, the head board may be tall enough. Your ceilings are very high in this room, consider a larger light fixture. Three. If room permits, another chair by the fireplace with a small table for a lamp and place a rug here to show it as it's own area.

also, dont think in terms of 'filling it up' as you would a living room. have your focal areas, its ok to have space in between.
