My experience is that the relatives of Halcyon (includes June & First Frost) are among the latest to go down for the winter. The only hosta sthat I have seen last longer in my neighbourhood are what appear to be Lancifolia.

You bet! My 'June', 'Touch of Class', 'First Frost', 'Ben Vernooy' and 'Katherine Lewis' are still looking great! No pix handy but will get some later this afternoon....

Your Remember Me is lovely Lindalana. And your Lakeside Love Affaire too! You're right about mine being in less sun. Either way, it's a beauty.

Thanks! I am going to move my Love Affair to a bit more shade next year and see what it looks like...cept the reason I got it into sun as it does not do as well in shade for me. At least in the soil. Now I have it in pot and it is thriving.

I do not have June but have Touch of class and got this year First Frost and Ben Vernoji, we will see what next year brings.

Two different 'June' specimens, one in a Spinout bag and the other potted up. The potted one has seen very little direct light and it's easy to see how much of a chameleon 'June' is in how it responds to the amount of light it receives.

Thanks for the photos Pieter, I really should have picked up 'Ben Vernooy' when the the greenhouse had it available two years ago, I haven't seen it again since.

Lindalana, here is a picture of my Lakeside Love Affaire. I had cut two leaves off of it so it is not as symmetrical now. It is in pot. You don't have a June? Do get one. You will love it!

No hosta collection is complete without at least 3 'June's in various locations in the yard :-)

How old is that Ben Vernoji? I so love color effect on it! Newhostalady, Love affair is just a sunning hosta, such crisp lines!

My friend got her June into too much sun and it looks like nothing it was before. Touch of class I have sometimes looks pretty similar to June, far less muted that I generally see...

I don't find that my June and Touch of Class look that similar. Here is a photo in spring for comparison.

The best thing is that it did not burn at all. Nevertheless I will have a second one for a shadier location next spring, just to see the difference between the locations...should I make a top ten list of hostas I liked most this year, June definitely is among the first three (with my big Green Acres and Frisian Pride)...
