miller, are you considering cork planks or glue down cork flooring?

Not sure what the pros/cons are to each method. Ideally which ever installation is cleaner is what I'd most likely want to go with

It depends on what shade and cork pattern you've chosen.

We installed plank cork flooring in our home last year. Plank is easier to install than glue down since it literally clicks together. We installed it in our family room, kitchen, office and hallway. So far it is easy to clean and we really like it. That being said, you do see the seams and you definitely want to use a good underlayment. If I had it to do again I would strongly consider using glue down if I could find someone very familiar with installing it. If you have not seen it installed I would recommend you try to find someone that has cork that will let you come and take a look. You mention that you are considering it because it is soft, while it certainly is not a hard surface like tile or marble, it is not "soft" either. I have hardwood flooring in the rest of my home and they go very well together, but I don't think I would combine bamboo, cork and hardwood in one home.

vanessa, what a beautiful home, love your cork floors. What brand of cork did you use?

The floors are Seville - it's floating planks. It's nice and warm on your feet in the cool months and cool on your feet during the summer. Another bonus, thinks don't break (think dishes, etc.) when they fall on cork. We have a dog and two kids and the cork has held up very well.

Cork flooring is not only easier underfoot, it is quieter and warmer, so unless you carpet the bedrooms I would not hesitate to use the cork in them.
