offset drain placement - preferences?

I have been looking at integrated solid surface sinks, and most do not have offset drains, which I want. Corian has a sink I like with a center offset drain, but I haven't seen any with drains in the corner. How much better is it to have a corner drain than a center offset drain? I am not married to the integrated sink, and this will help me decide. If not solid surface, then I will get stainless, and I believe there are lots of options there.

I have this Kohler Riverby from Lowes with offset drain in the right corner. I love that the drain stays clear even when you have larger and/or awkward thinks in the sink.

I am going with a 30" stainless Julien sink with the drain in the right rear corner. I prep to the right of the sink and this will make it easy to scrape bits into the disposal. Like the photo above, I should be able to soak stuff and still use the drain.

I currently have a double bowl sink with the disposal on the left and I think the new layout will work much better.

I prep to the left of the sink and keep the trash under the sink. I want a left offset drain so the trash can fit on the right side underneath. That way my family won't keep asking me to move while I'm prepping when they want to throw something away.

The advantage of side offset drains is that you have room in your sink to have pans etc. without blocking the drain. It also frees up more space under the sink for storage or trash pullout. I would prefer a back offset to a center drain mainly because it gives better storage under the sink.

I prefer the side offset (mine is centered front-back), and it works great. I have a trash pullout under one side the sink plus a garbage disposal on the other.

If you like the Corian sinks, would you like the Blanco super singles?

Sherri, thanks. I didn't know "back offset" was the term. That's what I'm seeing in the Corian sinks.

The side offset drains really sound better (for garbage placement and prep work), which means giving up the solid surface sink. I thought maybe I would go with stainless steel b/c my appliances will be SS, but there aren't a ton of options for side offsets there either. My concern going with something like silgranit is color matching, as our solid surface will also be white. But I am not married to Corian (yet) so if I went with silgranit (or some other white sink) I could probably find a solid surface to match. I think. And I am concerned about cost too. In general, SS is cheapest, right?

My current double sink (blech) internal measurements are 29 x 15 x 6.5, and I think something similar (maybe a little deeper) would be good. My biggest cookie sheet is only 19 x 12, so that would fit, and I don't use large roasting pans often. My beloved pizza screen is 17" but I don't know if I want a sink wide enough for that. That would be a problem with the depth of the counter/cabs, right? Plus my kitchen is small and I don't want a sink that would look too big for it.

You might consider creategoodsinks.com. They're stainless so not the look you are going for, but have various options on drain placement and types of sinks

I had glanced at those (creategoodsinks) but the prices scare me!

Anyone know *about* what what a Corian integrated sink would run? I have been searching but I don't know how to find appr prices for them. Knowing that would help me compare all these sinks.

    Rutavi has better prices.

The only ones I saw with a side offset drain was a shaped sink (I don't know what they are called. but I don't like them) and one that was $900. I will have to think on this one. Idk how much I will want to spend just to get that side offset.
