Postcard from Sweden quilt finished.

This is the second one of these that I have made. The first one I did just like the free pattern using solid colors but this one I decided to use Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics. I used what I had on hand so the colors might not translate perfectly but I think they worked out just fine. It's certainly bright and cheerful!

This is lap sized, 48" x 60". I quilted it with long curved lines using my walking foot. Scrappy binding seemed fitting. It was a fun project.

That is a WOW quilt! Just lovely - a perfect way to show off Kaffe Fassett's gorgeous fabrics. I like your quilting pattern as well. Beautifully done!

Thanks everybody. It was a lot of fun to make. Simple HSTs are easy and work up quickly, as you know, making it move right along.

Did you have any sort of plan to laying out the blocks? I look at that and I think "where do I start?" Did you plan which fabric would go in which block?

I had made a color key when I made the first one with the solid colors. I made another one with bits of the print fabrics to keep me from getting confused. Then it was just a matter of following the instructions in the pattern.

WOW what a knockout! How can you go wrong with Kaffe's fabrics anyways? I've never been in a store that carried it and if I did and bought some, I'd probably never have the guts to cut it up anyways.
