Growing under Lights

Suggestions for powerful timer

Hi all!

I recently purchased an LED grow light by Mars Hydro, 300w. U fortunately my apartment is old and 3 prong outlets are in hard to reach places so I need to use an extension cord. I have spent a ton of money trying to find a timer that works for the light and I have not had success yet. From anyone's personal experience, what timers are compatible with 'strong' grow lights?

Any Timer will work with the light. The light you have consumes only 140W. 300w is just marketing talk. All household timers in Lowes and HD will easily do at least 1200W. You can easily plug 8 of those Mars Hydro 300. on a single timer. Buy a programmable digital timer for about $15. It is a round shape and plugs into a grounded outlet.

I just started my basil experiment a few weeks ago with a 600W LED light. This is the timer I am using and it works great so far. I wanted a digital timer with dual outlets for my heating mat and the light.
