Hello everyone!

I'm hoping someone here can help me determine the manufacturer of a sofa.

I'm trying to ascertain the quality of a sofa my friend is looking at on CL. The label on it says "The Sofa & Chair Company" (they do use the ampersand). There is a company in London with the same name, but the London company has a distinct logo and that logo is not on the sofa in question.

The owner says he thinks his mother had it custom made by Ethan Allen around 1996 and he thinks "The Sofa & Chair Company" may have filled the custom orders. There is nothing on the sofa to indicate it came from Ethan Allen.

The back cushions are attached on this sofa. The owner said he thought his mother may have chosen that feature.

The seat cushions look like Dacron wrapped foam.

Since the set looks brand new, my only concern is whether it is going to hold up to hard use from a family of large people. I've read all of the threads here about sofa quality. Unfortunately, I didn't attempt to look under the sofa to see how it is constructed.

Has anyone ever heard of this particular "The Sofa & Chair Company"? The closest I can come to finding an American company with that name is Norwalk Sofa and Chair Company, but this sofa doesn't mention Norwalk.
