I have a banana tree that was given to me so I don't know the variety. It has produced a flower and I already have 3 hands showing. I live in Southern Indiana so I always have to bring my plants in before frost and let them "winter" in my basement. I do not put them into any soil but they will continue growing in the spring (I have done this for over 10 years now) I do not want to lose this harvest of bananas (I lost one last year because I didn't see the flower--had very small bananas, 2 hands, but did not mature) Can I pot the plant and will the bananas keep maturing over winter?
