I need a nice clean groundcover that is not mulch for my dirt yard (heavily shaded by Norway red maples and full of big surfaced maple roots. Do you think a moss garden would look nice or not so much? There are some mosses already growing but they have a flat, "moldy looking," dark green shade. Is there some type of moss that is more bright green like grass color, and has more thickness? The photos of moss gardens on the internet look beautiful, but I am not sure if they are products of Photoshop. It is probably because my moss looks nothing close to that vibrant/brilliant green. Do you mind uploading pictures of your moss garden/lawn?

Also, is moss garden slippery to walk on? My yard is now covered in wet maple leaves that probably just turn into mulch next spring. Can I just put the moss on top? Thanks. Gwen
