Hello Ms. Hunter. Good question! First, think of the age of the children. Are they at an age that they prefer separate spaces? If so, it might makes sense to have two vanity spaces. Second, is the bathroom of a size that will accommodate two separate spaces, that will also allow you to function well in the space? It is all about the what the size of the room will allow, and your preferences. A look at the floor plan would be a big help. Good luck!

It's all about personal preference and the room. Definitely put in two sinks if you can (it makes it so much easier for kids to get ready at the same time).

Just as a personal preference, I tend to like a single vanity with double sinks over two separate vanities.

@Interiors By Deborah Beaman LLC, My daughter is 18 and boys are 13, 10, and 7. My bathroom has a pretty weird setup. There is a vanity "room" and the tub and toilet are in a separate room. I don't have a mapped out, but the dimensions of each are about 86" x 60" and 86" x 68", respectively. I am trying to figure out if I want to keep the 2 separate, but I have to admit I like the ability to have someone in the shower/toilet while someone is using the vanity.

price would be one difference. I'd do the largest single vanity, with plenty of counter space and 2 well sized sinks.

consider doing wall mounted faucets for easier upkeep (the faucets and surrounding countertop stay much cleaner when they're in the wall).

With four kids sharing the same bathroom at those ages (mine are boys 21 & 12) I would think they value the privacy of the shower & toilet room which allows other kids to use the vanities. I think that set up is brilliant. Growing up all 4 of us kids and our parents shared and there was no privacy and lots of fighting! lol...

I tend to think a vanity as long as possible (can it be 86"?) just so you have enough counter top and storage space for all their teenage stuff. I know your boys probably hate to shower now, but thankfully that does change!

I'd do one.If you have 2 you have less counterspace and have to clean between them

Miesha Hunter that is the same layout we had for our 4 kids (1 boy 3 girls) when they were growing up. It was so convenient as someone could be showering, using the toilet and still have their privacy while others could use the sink. We had one long vanity with two sinks. If you do have the room, install small closets into each room. The closet in the part where there was a vanity, doubled as a laundry chute for us.

One large vanity, a much cleaner look . I’ve never liked two separate in the same room.

You will typically get more storage and have less corners to clean if you can go with one big vanity (especially if it has a toe-kick and is not standing on legs) instead of two separate cabinets.
